It is a pleasure to announce that the Catalan Journal of Communication and Cultural Studies has renewed its Editorial Board for the next years. We have incorporated Dr. Carme Ferré-Pavia (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) as Associated Editor, jointly with Dr. Hugh O’Donnell (Glasgow Caledonian University).
The new board is including the figure of Book Review Editor, that will be developed by Dr. Iolanda Tortajada (Universitat Rovira i Virgili). She will work close to the Editor, Dr. Enric Castelló (Universitat Rovira i Virgili), in order to select the books, distribute them among reviewers and edit the texts before going to print.
We are counting with the collaboration of a group of twenty top scholars in their fields, which combine in a balanced proportion, specialists in media, communication, cultural studies, gender studies, Catalan studies, cinema, or studies in identity and sociology of communication, among other topics.
The renewed team of the Advisory Board is keeping the international nature of the journal, with scholars working in prestigious universities in Belgium, Catalonia, England, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, Switzerland and Wales.
2013 will be an important year for the CJCS as we are preparing the 5th volume with a couple of issues, one miscellaneous almost closed and a special issue on ‘Communication and Food for Health Benefits’.
We thank very much to all the scholars who have join us during the first four years of the journal (2009-12) giving us support and advice, and we encourage all to keep on in touch and collaborating in the distribution of our call for papers and activities. Have a great new year!
